In this episode, Patrick talks about the importance of practicing mindfulness. What is mindfulness? Mindfulness involves maintaining a moment-by-moment, nonjudgemental awareness of our thoughts, feelings, physical sensations, and surrounding environment.
Criminal justice professionals deal with everything from dangerous situations, emotional victims, and disturbing crime scenes just to name a few. Taking care of ourselves should be priority #1.
After all, if we don’t take care of ourselves, how can we take care of others?
